For a birds-eye view of the lake there is parasailing, a sport in which you soar aloft hundreds of feet in the air in the harness of a specially designed parachute while being towed by a boat. Although it is quite safe and does not require any special skills, parasailing is not for the faint-of-heart!
If parasailing doesnīt get you high enough try hot air ballooning from the deck of a boat. For awe-inspiring, breathtaking views of the jewel of the Sierras, this balloon flight canīt be beat!
Fast becoming one of the most popular marine activities in the world, piloting your own personal watercraft is fun and exhilarating. In spite of new regulations placed on the jet skis and waverunners at Lake Tahoe, there are still many places to find rentals.
At the other end of the spectrum Tahoe provides a majestic and serene alpine setting for sailing. Experienced sailors will find sailboat rentals or charters and those wishing to learn can obtain instruction. This is the way Tahoe was meant to be seen!
For those who are more athletically inclined there are several locations which offer instruction in water skiing, wakeboarding, or kneeboarding. Tows are available as well to those who donīt require lessons. You may also simply rent a ski boat capable of towing a skier or boarder.
Beneath the cobalt blue surface of the lake lies another realm. Though Tahoe presents certain challenges to divers, there are several dive sites worth exploring. Information about those sites and visiting them safely is compiled on the Diving page.
